I love HostArmada for WordPress but I have also found them reliable for self hosted Ghost, they ofder some amazing plans for running sites that are quite favorable to a new publisher. They offer amazing functionality and simplicity as well as a trong support ticketing system should you need to reach out.
As a publisher I will highly suggest you buy a Triennial plan (3 years) as you getthe largest benefit of the initial purchase discount and with this time you will be solidly into building your site income by the time renewal comes.
Prepping For Install
If you bought a domain with your hosting on HostArmada then these steps can all be skipped and you can just move to the install of Ghost below.
If you bought on a seperate service, as I would recommend, then you have to configure some parts for getting it all configured for use on HostArmada.
First you need to add the DNS entry for the (A) record which will point the domain at the hosting, this will require you grabbing your IP address from your HostArmada control panel.
If you want to easily redirect the (www) version of your site to this domain you will want to create a (CNAME) record with www as the source and your domain in the second box. This will ensure anytime someone goes to www.mysite.com they are redirected to mysite.com without effort.
This step, while small is a valuable thing to configure to ensure people link to your content and reach you without getting errors.
Now that you have the main DNS setup and configured properly you will need to get an SSL certificate, luckily with HostArmada this is very simple and you'll just need to search for (SSL/TLS Status) open that and click "Auto SSL".
This will ensure the SSL is in place after the AutoSSL run is complete, as long as you did the DNS record correct and replication has occurred.
Installing Ghost On HostArmada
For as many steps as you had to do above to get your domain ready for the installation this step is relatively simple and uncomplex. You need to go to "Ghost Commander" on your Control Panel to launch into their Ghost instance handler.
Once loaded you will see any previous Ghost installs here, or none if this is your first.
Once inside you want to choose the domain you want to have Ghost install onto, in most cases this will be the only option in this list then you can click "continue".
This will take a few minutes and so have some patience and wait for this to complete which will then drop you back to the main screen from above where you will be able to access your new Ghost blog through the Ghost logo under the (Admin Login) column.
You now have a fully functioning Ghost install ready for you to start creating your content and building a newsletter and membership.
Once completed I will link to a [ How to Upgrade Ghost on HostArmada ] to help you update versions, beneficially unlike other CMS upgrades aren't typically due to a security problem and more to provide new functionality or improvements.
